Announcement to Valued Customers

Valued Customers:

As part of its routine testing, the USDA conducted tests on a 60 pound sample of fine ground beef on May 28, 2009. The sample tested positive for E. coli O157. We are certain the meat DID NOT leave the plant. IT HAS NOT ENTERED THE FOOD CHANNEL.

Unfortunately some members of the news media have sensationalized the story. As a precaution only, SP Provisions is conducting a voluntary recall of ground beef products. No other meat products are at issue.

Could you please check any remaining ground beef (Bulk or Patty) that has the dates of 8 April 2009 through 28 May 2009. If you have any, we will pick it up and replace it, free of charge.

Again, SP Provisions is doing this as a precaution. We are certain that none of the ground beef left the plant.
